Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Childcare Program Coordinator to join our team at the US Army in Detroit, MI. As a key member of our childcare services department, you will be responsible for supervising children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years during daily schedules of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events.

About the Role:

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children and youth
  • Prepare and implement program options for children and youth with special requirements
  • Instruct team members in specific tasks and job techniques
  • Ensure assigned area maintains standards for DoD certification and national accreditation or equivalent

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise children and youth during daily activities and events
  • Plan and coordinate activities based on individual child/youth needs
  • Provide instruction and guidance to team members
  • Maintain compliance with DoD and local installation standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • One of the following credentials: CDA, Military School Age Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or nationally recognized Youth Development Credential

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position with a 40 hour minimum workweek and eligibility for benefits. The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Please check out our Applicant Information Kit for more details about the application process.
