Job Description

As a key member of our Building Envelope division, you will be responsible for a variety of general functions, including:

  • Collaborating with SOCOTEC USA management departments on integrated internal services, such as budgetary project requirements.
  • Assisting with managing manpower and Division technical needs and initiatives.
  • Leading staff or teams and fostering training and mentoring.
  • Overseeing and reviewing Restoration Division staff reports and project progress.
  • Consulting on existing facade design for enhancement or maintenance type projects, including forensic review and analysis, bid document preparation, and construction administration.
  • Assisting with the management and growth of our Façade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP) services.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and job-related management teams, providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed.
  • Familiarity with building codes, including Energy Codes, in local markets.
  • Advising architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.
  • Documenting and maintaining well-written reports on project-related activity.
  • Occasionally presenting white papers or case studies to technical teams.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 15+ years of experience working with building envelope/enclosure projects.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years at the leadership level in a professional services company.
  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Registration as an Architect.
  • Knowledge of architectural design and construction, as well as local laws and codes.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic team environment, proficient in problem-solving and multi-tasking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Inspection certificates preferred.
