The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Northeast Georgia Health System is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care. As a MICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and efficient care to critically ill patients who require intense monitoring and nursing interventions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, hemodynamically unstable patients, and multisystem organ failure.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize unit performance.
- Licensure: Current RN licensure in the state of Georgia.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Registered Nurse, with preference given to those with experience in critical care or medical-surgical nursing.
- Skills: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- National certification in a clinical specialty, such as Critical Care or Medical-Surgical Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or higher.
- Experience in long-term care or other healthcare settings.
