Job Title: Teacher for the Visually Impaired

Soliant, a leading healthcare and education staffing provider, is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired to join our team in the Augusta, GA area for the 2024-25 school year. This is a full-time position serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade, offering weekly pay, flexible benefits, and guaranteed hours with all of our full-time positions.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in education, with a specialization in visual impairments or blindness, and valid state licensure or certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in Georgia or out of state.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students' academic and social success.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' skills and progress.
  • Advocate for students' access to appropriate educational resources and accommodations.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in education, with a specialization in visual impairments or blindness.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in Georgia or out of state.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students preferred.
  • Experience with Braille preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
