Position Overview: Certified Nurse Assistant/Aide

A Certified Nurse Assistant/Aide plays a crucial role in delivering care to residents and patients, operating within the defined capabilities of the certified nurse aide under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Responsibilities encompass providing care tailored to various age groups, including infants, children, adolescents, and the elderly.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Professional Requirements:
  • Completion of high school education or in pursuit of a high school diploma
  • Prior experience in long-term care settings is advantageous
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is preferred; must be obtained within six months of employment or transfer
  • Understanding of confidentiality standards is essential
  • If not already certified, completion of at least 16 hours of a nurse assistant training program covering mandatory topics is required before hiring, with State certification to be obtained within four months of employment
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Completion of a pre-employment physical and physical therapy work capacity assessment is mandatory
  • Aware of the risks associated with exposure to blood/body fluids and knowledgeable in universal precautions
  • Exhibits honesty and integrity consistently
  • Possesses effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with patients, residents, families, and colleagues
  • Must comply with the established dress code and maintain a neat and professional appearance
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and demonstrate punctuality is required
  • Upon hiring, adherence to the Legal Compliance Program is necessary
  • Exhibits a collaborative spirit when working with fellow staff members as part of the Health Care Team
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to operate under the supervision of a charge nurse
  • Capability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially under pressure
  • Must practice and adhere to appropriate body mechanics principles

Available positions include both day and night shifts.
