Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Fleet Technician I Apprentice to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will assist in providing safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist in performing FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies.
  • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions on vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and clutches.
  • Follow procedures for documenting all work performed on work orders using the complaint, cause, and correction format.
  • Develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training (2-year school preferred).
  • No experience required, but mechanical, fleet, or automotive experience highly preferred.
  • Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional exposure to wet, hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and confined spaces.
  • Occasional travel to other operating companies or the corporate office.
