Job Summary

Provide direct health services to individual students and staff in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the Nursing Process and Standards of School Nursing Practice (NASN 2005)
  • Maintain accurate health records on all students
  • Promote optimal environmental health
  • Manage School Health services
Requirements
  • Current license as a registered nurse (RN) from the Iowa Board of Nursing
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Knowledge of professional standards, the Nurse Practice Act and other statutes and regulations
  • Current CPR/AED certification
Personal Qualities
  • Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective communication with school personnel and students
  • Contributes to creating a positive work environment
  • Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality
  • Arrives on time and works consistently until the end of his/her scheduled day
