Overview:
Our client, Airswift, is looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join their team in Old Ocean, TX for an initial contract period, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Controls Modernization Projects by engaging in control system specification, hardware and software design, testing, commissioning, and documentation.
- Execute upgrades for Honeywell control system software, manage controller configurations, backups, and routine maintenance of control systems.

- Assist in the development, implementation, and upkeep of the Process Control Network (PCN), both in software and hardware aspects, for a large refinery or its subdivisions.

- Contribute to Microsoft Windows network administration and design tasks.
- Aid in deploying security patches, anti-virus applications, and software updates.
- Understand and configure all SCADA connections to the PCN.

- Set up all accepted communication protocols for linking third-party devices to the Distributed Control System (DCS) such as SM, OPC, Modbus over serial, PCDI, and TCP/IP.

- Address issues and resolve problems related to distributed control system hardware and the process control network.

- Grasp the requirements and interactions of software applications within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and on the control systems network.

- Monitor key performance indicators to enhance the efficiency of the PCN.
- Develop standards, practices, and procedures for managing and maintaining the PCN.
- Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures and incident investigations.
- Share key learnings and best practices among company refineries and with other teams focused on best practices.

Qualifications:
- Proficient knowledge of Honeywell DCS systems including TDC3000, C300; TPS and Experion PKS.
- Strong computer skills are essential.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the refinery or related industry.
- Valid in-state driver's license or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems hardware and software maintenance, as well as migration and upgrade strategies.
- Experience in refinery field instrumentation.
- Knowledge of Cisco networking with switch/router management.
- Additional experience with various Logic Solvers (PLC, etc.).
- A strong desire to learn and enhance skills in process control and network technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying both technical and practical information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Self-motivated and able to take ownership of processes.
- Proven ability to complete complex assignments efficiently.
- Demonstrated capability to meet project schedules and budgets with minimal supervision.
- Leadership qualities, self-starter, motivator, and mentor to team members.
- Working knowledge of SCADA interfaces.
