SALARY GRADE: Teacher Salary Schedule (prorated and annualized)

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

To facilitate enriching learning experiences that empower students to achieve their maximum potential across intellectual, emotional, physical, and social dimensions. Foster the development of essential skills and competencies for successful societal engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid Texas teaching certification with necessary endorsements for the assigned subject and grade level
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Expertise in assigned subjects
  • Comprehensive understanding of curriculum and instructional methodologies
  • Proficient in student instruction and behavior management
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Capacity to remain adaptable and responsive to evolving demands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Design and execute lesson plans that meet district curriculum standards, providing documented evidence of preparation as required.
  2. Craft lessons that accommodate diverse student learning preferences.
  3. Deliver subject matter in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines, district policies, and administrative regulations.
  4. Plan and implement suitable instructional strategies, activities, materials, and resources that reflect an understanding of the diverse learning needs of students.
  5. Assess student learning styles and utilize findings to inform instructional planning.
  6. Collaborate with special education staff to adapt curriculum for students with special needs, following Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  7. Engage with colleagues to establish instructional goals, objectives, and methodologies aligned with district requirements.
  8. Oversee the assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
  9. Leverage technology to enhance the educational process.
  10. Assist students in evaluating and improving their study techniques and habits.
  11. Conduct ongoing assessments of student performance through both formal and informal evaluations.
  12. Take on responsibilities for extracurricular activities as designated. Sponsor approved external activities in collaboration with the Campus Director.
  13. Serve as a positive role model for students; uphold the mission of the school district.
  14. Create and sustain a classroom environment that promotes learning and supports the physical, social, and emotional development of students, consistent with the educational philosophy and district goals.
  15. Manage student behavior in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  16. Encourage students to adhere to established standards of classroom conduct as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
  17. Implement necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  18. Assist in the selection of instructional materials, including books and equipment.
  19. Maintain open communication through conferences with parents, students, and colleagues.
  20. Foster professional relationships with peers, students, parents, and community members.
  21. Utilize effective communication skills to convey information clearly and accurately.
  22. Participate in professional development activities to enhance job-related competencies.
  23. Stay informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for educators.
  24. Compile, maintain, and submit all required reports, records, and documentation.
  25. Attend and engage in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.
  26. Demonstrate regular attendance.
  27. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic, attendance, and behavioral progress.
  28. Respond to communications in a timely manner.
  29. Ensure student safety at all times.
  30. Be available to students and parents for educational purposes outside of instructional hours when necessary and appropriate.
  31. Adhere to the school's grading policies.
  32. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance.
  33. Keep an up-to-date grade book and provide student grade information as needed.
  34. Maintain records in compliance with legal and district policies.
  35. Uphold and enforce all school policies and state regulations.
  36. Maintain confidentiality regarding students and their families.
  37. Participate in committee, team, departmental, faculty, and district meetings as required.
  38. Adapt to changing demands by preparing and adjusting instructional methods for distance learning.
  39. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Equipment Utilized:

Standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals, along with specialized equipment unique to the role.
