Job Title: Professional Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer to join our team at Hawkfinds LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing civil and geotechnical engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review engineering designs, plans, and specifications for civil improvements on projects ranging from residential to commercial and industrial.
  • Design, permit, inspect, and manage development of water systems, septic systems, and storm management facilities.
  • Select, monitor, and inspect construction materials for use in projects.
  • Work with agencies and clients to obtain planning and building regulation approvals.
  • Liaise with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to ensure project success.
  • Monitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors.
  • Administer and manage private and public works for bid contracts and various bidding components.
  • Manage projects, including solving field problems in conjunction with Project and Construction Managers.
  • Prepare technical reports on various disciplines within Civil Engineering.
  • Perform traffic studies to determine existing and projected level of service standards on roads and intersections.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and two years of Professional Engineer experience, or equivalent combination of education, experience, certifications, and training.
  • Experience in performing engineering computations and preparing engineering designs.
  • Experience in preparing reports, designs, plans, and specifications for civil improvements on projects.
  • Experience sufficient to understand the work of subordinate positions to answer questions and resolve problems.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Washington.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training, or ability to obtain Washington state registration within one year of hire.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and work on public works projects.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting programs, such as AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge and use of Washington State Energy Code compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations and standards for design, bidding, and construction.
  • Skills in analyzing, interpreting, and preparing reports.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
