About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team at Carrier. As a key member of our service team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers by providing top-notch maintenance and repair services for commercial heating and cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain commercial air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units, including inspections, repairs, and replacements
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in commercial HVAC systems
  • Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment, including thermostatic controls and refrigeration systems
  • Install new heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, and repair or replace damaged or worn parts and equipment
  • Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of the unit and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems, including cleaning coils, blowers, and checking motors and belt tensions
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork, and assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
  • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Universal EPA Certification
  • 2+ years of HVAC experience
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, and squat for extended periods of time
  • Valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
  • Part of or willing to join the Union
Preferred Qualifications
  • Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair
  • Hazard and safety practices common to the trade
  • HVAC controls and safety devices
  • Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling
  • Sheet metal, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
