Role Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for guiding and supporting the workgroup to achieve set objectives. You will operate within established parameters to make informed decisions, apply concepts to moderately complex issues, and resolve challenges through immediate actions or short-term planning. Engaging with other support teams with clear problem statements and initiating communication to address issues will be essential.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead and provide technical, quality, and production guidance to assigned teams to achieve quality, scheduling, and cost targets.


• Offer continuous support in resource scheduling, technical leadership, and facilitating the flow of materials to meet customer demands.


• Collaborate with Product Group Leaders on overall decision-making regarding process enhancements and production to optimize resource allocation (manpower, machinery, methods) for efficient hardware flow through manufacturing.


• Drive process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cycle times, enhancing inventory turnover, and minimizing manufacturing losses.


• Collect data and report on performance metrics for the areas under your supervision.


• Oversee the activities of a unionized hourly team within the designated cells and actively participate in team initiatives to achieve established goals.


• Execute administrative tasks to support business operations, including timekeeping, labor tracking, audits, and absence management.


• Coordinate first-line activities (e.g., Methods, Production Control) to ensure adherence to production schedules, customer satisfaction, cost objectives, and maintaining the highest quality standards.


• Assist the Product Group Leader in mentoring and advising employees regarding their performance and developmental needs.


• Employ effective interpersonal and communication skills to inspire the assigned workforce.


• Review production orders and implement effective production schedules.


• Diagnose and resolve machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime and prevent schedule disruptions.


• Uphold the highest safety standards within the facility.


• Apply Six Sigma methodologies across all functions within the assigned cells.


• Mentor and encourage the team in safety, quality, and productivity enhancements.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or a High School Diploma/GED with substantial leadership experience (5+ years) in a progressive supervisory role within a production or manufacturing environment is required.
