Arborist Specialist

The Arborist Specialist performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in the care, maintenance, and removal of ornamental and large shade trees using specialized vehicles and equipment. This role requires operating hand and power tools in pruning and tree maintenance, installing cables and braces in trees to ensure safe tree or limb fall, and climbing trees using ropes, hooks, or cables. The Arborist Specialist also operates a bucket truck and works closely with Horticulturists to identify and plan work activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform skilled tasks in tree care, maintenance, and removal
- Operate hand and power tools in pruning and tree maintenance
- Install cables and braces in trees to ensure safe tree or limb fall
- Climb trees using ropes, hooks, or cables
- Operate a bucket truck
- Work closely with Horticulturists to identify and plan work activities
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of arborist or tree trimmer experience are required. A valid U.S. driver's license and a Class B CDL or ability to obtain within six (6) months are also necessary. The successful candidate must be able to lift, handle, and maneuver tools, materials, and supplies, and perform tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
Working ConditionsThe Arborist Specialist will work on-call as needed, and may be required to work early hours, weekends, and holidays. The role requires the ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice, and to perform tasks that may be physically demanding.
