Speech Language Pathologist

At Henry Ford Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing clinical services to individuals with adult and pediatric speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Clinical Services: Consult with patients, family, and healthcare staff about communication and swallowing disorders; diagnose speech, language, or swallowing disorders and evaluate patient's condition and prognosis; develop treatment/therapy programs for patients; schedule and conduct patient follow-up visits.
- Operate Clinical Equipment: Measure speech production characteristics during patient evaluations and treatment.
- Assess and Treat: Perform endoscopic assessment of vocal fold vibratory function and swallowing function; interact with dietary personnel in developing nutritional menus and/or eating programs for patients with limited swallowing abilities.
- Prescribe and Educate: Prescribe appropriate communication technology after cancer or laryngeal surgery; teach patients to utilize technology and effectively develop their communication skills.
- Supervise and Educate: Supervise the activities of departmental graduate students and clinical fellows; participate in all phases of departmental education and research programs.
- Represent the Institution: Represent Henry Ford Health System at community, regional, and national conferences; educate local community and social organizations on programs available at HFHS.
- Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program.
- Experience: One year of experience in a clinical setting required.
- Licenses and Certifications: State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA.
