Reports to: Sheet Metal Foreman/Project Manager
Role Responsibilities:
Follow directives from the foreman and project manager to ensure project success.
Interpret and execute tasks based on blueprints, rough sketches, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate installations.
Work effectively in the field, adhering to management guidelines and established protocols.
Oversee and delegate tasks to apprentices, ensuring timely and proper completion of assignments.
Conduct site safety inspections, lead toolbox discussions, and complete reports as required by management.
Document any alterations to drawings and communicate these changes through appropriate channels.
Collaborate efficiently with peers and contractors on-site to maintain workflow.
Maintain ongoing communication regarding progress, changes, and challenges with the foreman and project manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial sheet metal work.
Familiarity with Procore Project Management Software is advantageous.
Knowledge of HVAC installation, plans, and specifications is essential.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
Strong punctuality, reliability, and work ethic are required.
Understanding of standard practices and procedures within the sheet metal industry.
Licenses Required:
MA JM Sheet Metal License
Valid driver's license
OSHA 10 Certification
EPA Universal Certificate
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift an average of 50 lbs regularly.
Capability to climb ladders and stairs.
Proficient in safely operating all equipment specified in the job description.
Endurance for standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
Ability to manage frequent loud noises and meet deadlines effectively.
Additional Information:
Willingness to continuously enhance skills in the sheet metal and HVAC/R trades is essential for professional growth.
Strong teamwork capabilities alongside the ability to work independently are crucial.
