We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician III to join our Biological Materials and Biosynthesis Team at the University of Georgia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and collaborating with researchers to facilitate commercial biomaterial applications.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with fermentation process, including set-up of equipment, production of media, monitoring, and recovery of fermentation products.
- Assist with bacterial synthesis, including culture, molecular characterization, biochemical characterization, and biopolymer expression manipulation.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining supplies used in the fermentation and bacterial synthesis processes.
- Bachelor's degree and related experience or equivalent combination required.
- Area-specific certification and training may be required.
- Strong knowledge of microbiology and applied chemistry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
This position involves extensive hands-on laboratory work and coordination of laboratory supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
