About the Role

The Facilities Maintenance Team Lead assists in overseeing maintenance personnel and the daily operations of facility maintenance tasks. This role ensures that the facilities are maintained, operational, and safe. The Team Lead collaborates closely with the Facilities Maintenance Manager to coordinate activities, manage resources, and guide the maintenance team.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in supervising and coordinating maintenance personnel, including task assignments, progress monitoring, and ensuring timely completion of work.
  • Provide training and support to maintenance staff to ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling and overseeing preventive maintenance tasks and urgent repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of facility equipment, ensuring all tools and machinery are in optimal working condition.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in procuring necessary materials and coordinating with vendors for repairs and services.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance records are maintained and updated.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Conduct safety inspections and promptly address any issues.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor regarding ongoing projects and any issues that arise.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on maintenance activities, including work orders, completed tasks, and inventory levels.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a team of maintenance personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify potential maintenance issues.
  • Strong focus on safety and adherence to protocols.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems required.
  • Experience in a large commercial or industrial facility is a plus.
  • Certification in facilities management or a related field is preferred.
  • OSHA safety certification is a plus.
