About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our dedicated team at UPMC. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive safe and effective surgical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and surgical assistants during operations by passing instruments, sponge, and suture while maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Prepare operating rooms for procedures by setting up equipment, arranging sterile supplies, and adjusting anesthesia equipment.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and smooth surgical processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation, care, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
  • Help apply dressings and provide general support to patients as needed.
Requirements
  • CPR certification (AHA) within 30 days of hire.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC) within 6 months of program completion.
  • Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances required for employment.
  • FBI Clearance required for employment.
