Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pet Groomer to join our team at The Dog Retreat & Spa. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for bathing, clipping, and styling dogs according to breed-specific standards and owner preferences. You will also trim nails, clean ears, and de-tangle hair to ensure our canine clients look and feel their best.

Responsibilities

  • Brush and de-tangle or remove matted fur
  • Bathe dogs and dry coat
  • Execute a variety of clipping techniques and style requests
  • Examine for parasites or other skin conditions
  • Trim nails
  • Ensure the safety of dogs at all times
  • Adhere to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with our front desk staff, and/or owners

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a dog groomer
  • Comfortable working with anxious animals
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift large dogs over 60 pounds
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in continuing education
  • Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and dog owners
  • Strong attention to detail
