About the Job

H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pit Loader Operator to join their team. As a Pit Loader Operator, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, storing, transferring, distributing, and inventorying stone products and materials. The ideal candidate will be motivated, experienced, and carry out work safely.



Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies. This includes performing pre and post trip of equipment every day and filling out daily inspection sheets. Additionally, the candidate will start the engine, shift gears, press pedals, and turn the steering wheel/move joysticks to operate the loader. They will also move levers to lower and tilt the bucket and drive the front end loader forward to force the bucket into finished product.



Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent. Verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as experience operating heavy equipment. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work a second shift schedule are also required. Additionally, you will need to be able to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed and meet physical requirements.



Preferred Qualifications

Three months of related experience and strong preference for Loader operation experience are desired. Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting is also preferred. MSHA or other relevant safety certification is a plus.



Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with regular exposure to outside weather conditions, vibration, and noise. They will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
