Job Summary

A licensed cytotechnologist plays a crucial role in the Anatomic Pathology Department, working under the direction of senior professionals to ensure the highest quality diagnostic services. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and examine microscopic slides from various body specimens, including Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA), to identify infections, abnormalities, and cell morphology.
  • Conduct quality assurance tests to produce studies of the highest quality, ensuring accuracy and precision in diagnostic results.
  • Collaborate with pathologists to report preliminary findings for all NON-GYN and FNA cytology results, as well as perform and evaluate immunohistochemistry, special stains, and molecular stains.
  • Support compliance with Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility by maintaining confidentiality, protecting organizational assets, and adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Cytotechnologist License (California)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make accurate reports to Pathologist(s)
  • Preferred: Minimum three (3) years experience screening both GYN and NON-GYN Cytology
