Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cellar Worker I to join our team at JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery. As a key member of our harvest team, you will be responsible for assisting with various cellar operations, including bottling line procedures, wine blending, and cellar maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with general bottling line procedures, including loading box machines, applying pallet stickers, and stacking finished cases.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify any defects or inconsistencies in the bottling process.
  • Mix tanks as needed for cold stability and sample tanks.
  • Monitor temperature of wine tanks and make chemical and yeast additions as needed.
  • Perform volume calculations for wine blending and wine movements.
  • Transfer, rack, filter, and blend wines as needed.
  • Assist with still wine barrel work, including cleaning, maintaining, and organizing barrels.
  • Responsible for monitoring and replenishing cellar inventory of supplies.
  • Assist with set up and clean up duties, including cleaning labeler parts, hosing down floors, and storing packaging materials.
  • Sanitize cellar area equipment and tanks, maintaining a clean and organized work environment at all times.
Requirements
  • Prior harvest cellar experience required; 1 consecutive year of bottling preferred.
  • Strong communication skills desired.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manual labor involved – ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds required.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a cold or hot climate daily.
  • Must be able to perform basic calculations.
