We are seeking a highly skilled and courteous ED Admissions Clerk to join our team at Huntsville Hospital Health System. As a key member of our registration team, you will be responsible for professionally interviewing patients and/or family members to obtain accurate and complete demographic, financial, and medical information for the registration/admission process and patient identification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and interview patients to verify identity, obtain complete and accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility, pre-certification status (if required), and patient address.
- Determine patient responsibility and collect any amount due or attempt to establish payment arrangements.
- Complete registrations/pre-registrations in a timely manner.
- Complete necessary forms for patient admission.
- Escort or direct patients to the proper location.
- Function as a liaison between departments and physician offices.
- Multi-task, work reception desk, sign patients in, answer phones, give directions, etc.
- Provide coverage in other registration areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Experience: 6 months experience in working with the public, computer experience, collections experience
