- Design Analysis and Calculation: Direct and perform design analysis and calculation for engineering proposals and process requirements relevant to industry standard guidelines and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of AASTHO, ASTM, ACI, DOT, ADA, and other specifications to guarantee all precast concrete products/buildings meet applicable regulatory requirements.
- Project Tracking and Metrics: Develop and maintain appropriate project-tracking metrics to evaluate department effectiveness and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Training and Development: Implement training and professional development processes to expand department capabilities and individual growth.
- Estimating and Sales Support: Support the estimating and sales team with cost, time estimates, and project constraints.
- Engineering System Controls: Devise and maintain engineering system controls and Standard Operation Procedures for drawings and documentation.
- BOM Development and Accuracy: Responsible for development, updating, and accuracy of BOMs.
- Consultant Management: Delegate and manage the workflow of outside consultants.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Experience: 8 plus years of engineering management and leading people; 10 years' experience in an engineering role in manufacturing or construction.
- Precast Concrete Experience: 5 years' experience in precast concrete design, including direct and indirect design of reinforced concrete pipe, design and layout of reinforced concrete box, and various precast drainage structures.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in precast industry.
- Professional Certifications: PE license preferred with the ability to obtain registration in additional states within 12 months, and acquire additional registrations as the business expands.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with CAD programs such as SolidWorks, EPDM, and AutoCAD.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience in SAP or similar.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent business management, developmental, and financial management skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the company, and speaking effectively before groups of customers, leadership, and professional partners.
- Project Management Skills: Excellent project management, goal setting, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical, mathematical, and statistical analysis skills.
- Interpretation and Analysis: Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Business Understanding: Thorough understanding of multiple business areas, including safety, quality control, operations, supply chain, and sales.
