Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Yard Hand to join our team at Southeast LBM Holdco LLC. As a key member of our yard operations, you will be responsible for building loads, loading trucks, and assisting with maintenance of our efficient and well-operated lumberyard.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with the selection and loading of materials.
  • Pull and stage materials to be picked up or delivered to ensure schedules are met.
  • Contribute to maintaining the inventory in the yard by conducting cycle counts and keeping the yard organized.
  • Properly use and maintain all equipment.
  • Commit to continued learning on products, packages, procedures, and more.
  • Know and follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Know and follow all applicable rules and procedures regarding sales and inventory management.
  • Distribute and place all specified building materials as indicated on the order ticket.
  • Clean up and properly dispose of all debris.
  • Take initiative to see that tasks get done without being asked.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of all applicable building material products.
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment.
  • Ability to follow all safe and applicable methods of transporting material from the delivery vehicle to the point of stocking/delivery.
  • Must be knowledgeable, trained, capable, and licensed/certified to operate forklift equipment, if needed.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of current office technology.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • High school diploma.

Work Hours
  • Position is full-time. Occasional overtime may be required.
