We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Sovah Health - Danville. As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, and referral.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant data.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required or within six (6) months of hire.
Sovah Health - Danville is a 250-bed hospital with the region's only designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We are an academic teaching site for residents, medical students, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and physician assistants.
