We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. As an Occupational Therapist with Center for Elders' Independence, you will play a vital role in providing restorative and rehabilitative services to our elderly clients.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to evaluate clients' level of functioning and develop personalized plans of care.
- Conduct initial assessments and reassessments as needed, and implement occupational therapy interventions to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, endurance, and other factors affecting independence in daily living.
- Work with vendors to obtain rehabilitative equipment and supplies for clients, and instruct and supervise therapy program aides in the implementation of individualized plans of care.
- Train family members, caregivers, and CEI staff in methods to maximize safety and functional abilities in performing activities of daily living.
- Attend interdisciplinary team conferences and participate in the development of plans of care, and evaluate clients' home environments and make recommendations as needed.
- Document thoroughly, accurately, and timely, and maintain confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about clients, clients' families, or staff.
- Possession of a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and graduation from a program of Occupational Therapy approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of California.
- Preferred, one (1) year of experience working as a Licensed Occupational Therapist with the frail elderly population.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification on file.
- A valid California driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
