Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Nurse to join our team at Houston Metro Urology Surgical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and ensure a safe and effective recovery experience for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient care areas and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, temperature, and cardiac function, and report any abnormalities to the surgeon
  • Exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
  • Perform and document head-to-toe evaluations of patients using an approved scoring system
  • Check dressings and/or operative sites of patients and report any abnormalities to the surgeon
  • Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families
  • Ensure patients meet discharge criteria
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment
  • BCLS Certification upon employment
  • ACLS required within 30 days of hire
  • PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire
