Job Overview

Essel is seeking a highly skilled Solid Waste Management Engineer to lead and work on diverse solid waste projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects, developing proposals, and collaborating with public and private clients in marketing, client management, and project production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management, including developing project plans, coordinating with team members, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Business development, including identifying new business opportunities, preparing proposals, and meeting with clients.
  • Staff development, including mentoring and training junior team members.
  • Technical expertise, including applying knowledge of engineering and scientific principles to solid waste management projects.
  • Field work, including conducting site visits, surveys, and data gathering.
  • Office-based tasks, including CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, and permit applications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, such as environmental engineering or civil engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience in the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting.
  • E.I.T. certification and California P.E. (civil) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
