Key Responsibilities

General Diagnostic Duties

  • Maintain professional standards of care and patient confidentiality.
  • Adhere to Raleigh Radiology policies and procedures.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures with safety and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and prioritize patient needs, including discharge instructions.
  • Document and communicate patient care observations accurately.
  • Administer contrast materials and assist with various tests and procedures.
  • Utilize supplies efficiently and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and physicians.
  • Ensure clear communication and leverage teaching opportunities.
  • Manage emergencies and uphold a safe environment.
  • Exhibit teamwork and professionalism, demonstrating respect and courtesy.
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities as needed.

Patient Care Activities

  • Gather and document patient history and assessments thoroughly.
  • Engage with patients to foster a positive experience.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of patients during their visits.
  • Monitor patient conditions and document any changes.
  • Assist with procedures and respond to emergency situations.
  • Provide accurate patient history to Radiologists for effective image interpretation.
  • Communicate efficiently with peers and other staff to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in diagnostic radiology.
  • Strong knowledge of radiological procedures and patient care practices.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to manage emergencies while maintaining composure.
Education and Certification Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program with additional training in CT.

Experience: Prior experience in a busy clinical or hospital setting is preferred.

Certification:

  • CPR certification is required or must be obtained within the first six months of employment, with continuous certification thereafter.
  • Successful completion of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry for Radiologic Technologists within twelve months of employment.
  • Successful completion of the ARRT registry in CT within twelve months of employment or initiation of CT training.

Licensure: None required.

Desired Skills

Basic patient care skills, including first-aid and CPR. Proficient technical skills in CT and diagnostic radiography are essential. Ability to work independently, make informed decisions based on patient conditions, and follow directions is necessary. Flexibility, reliability, and professionalism are required traits.
