Position Overview:
As a Pediatric Speech Therapy Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating children with various communication and swallowing disorders. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough evaluations of language, cognitive-communicative, articulation, pragmatic/social language, fluency, voice, and swallowing/feeding disorders, adhering to professional and organizational standards.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect the unique needs of each patient, considering their age and specific circumstances.
3. Regularly reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
4. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of diagnostic findings and patient performance in accordance with facility guidelines.
5. Prepare billing that accurately reflects the services provided to patients.
6. Identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement best practices within the department.
7. Uphold the organizational values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in all interactions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited program.
Licensure:
- Must hold a valid license in Speech Language Pathology in good standing.
Required Skills:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in basic math and computer skills.
- Knowledge of speech language evaluation and treatment techniques for rehabilitation.
- Effective problem-solving abilities in evaluation, treatment planning, and execution.
- Ability to assess and interact with patients and families, considering their diverse backgrounds.
- Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a diverse population.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong initiative and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and adaptability to changing situations.
