We are seeking a skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Rapides Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- CPR for Healthcare Providers certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
