Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Dentist to join our team at the Department of Health and Human Services. As a Supervisory Dentist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Dental Branch, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meeting customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Dental to develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and dental objectives.
  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure effective management of the Dental Branch.
  • Assign work to employees based on organizational priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments.
  • Perform a full range of professional dental tasks, including more difficult cases in areas such as oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
  • Provide dental care services to individuals in homes, schools, clinics, job sites, and other community locations within the Service Unit.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • One or more full years of experience performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level and above assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Board certification in a specialty area of dentistry.
  • Training or education in dental public health or a related field.
