Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer/Software Deployment Manager to join our team at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing software deployment and test support to the USSTRATCOM Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES) software development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and document deployment plans and procedures for SMPES systems and components.
  • Conduct functional testing and evaluate results to ensure successful deployment.
  • Prepare studies, plans, and analyses to support software deployment and test activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, PMO, and system owners to satisfy customer requests for software tools and environment permissions.
  • Coordinate and work with customers to design and build test data sets for the target environment and application functionality.
  • Document defects in deployment procedures and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Research and champion standardization and automation of deployment procedures.
  • Participate in an integrated team operating under an Agile Framework.
Requirements
  • Expertise in configuration and use of technologies used in the SMPES PBS (Kubernetes, Docker, Python, Apache, Rancher K8s, RedHat, Oracle Weblogic, and CA API gateways).
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux 8.10 and containers using Kubernetes cluster (K8), Racher K8, and Dockers.
  • Experience with Oracle Database new version (preferred 19c) and Oracle Weblogic and CA API gateways.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with nine years or more experience in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with software development toolsets using Apache, Python, Cockpit, and JBOSS.
  • Experience with networking (i.e., Cisco, Netapp storage networking).
  • Meet 8140 requirement by having Information Assurance Certificate (e.g., security + or CISSP) and operating system cert (e.g., Red Hat Linux).
  • Experience utilizing continuous monitoring/security tools.
  • Familiar with cloud infrastructure and cloud principles.
