Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Samford University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing top-notch medical care to our student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being during practices and competitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Injury Prevention and Treatment: Develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention programs for our student-athletes, including evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Medical Care and Record Keeping: Provide immediate emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation for injuries, and maintain accurate medical records for our student-athletes.
  • Game Management and Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations, including game management responsibilities, and assist with administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with coaches, trainers, and other staff members to ensure seamless care and support for our student-athletes.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, best practices, and industry developments to provide the highest level of care for our student-athletes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Certifications: Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification and licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Alabama by the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in intercollegiate and/or professional athletics.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
