Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join our team in New Stanton, PA. As a Senior Heavy Duty Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems, and completing detailed mechanical inspections and repairs.

You will work independently on most tasks, interacting with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and utilizing key functions of our shop management system and electronic documentation.

  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Interact with customers and drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with various types of heavy duty equipment, including trucks and buses, and participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational or technical certification, and three years or more relevant work experience. You should also possess demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics and repairs.

A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A is preferred, as well as knowledge of computer skills, PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

This position requires the ability to drive Ryder vehicles and pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
