Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at LabCorp. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures and functions to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specimen Acceptance: Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Technical Procedures: Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Instrumentation: Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Quality Control: Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Test Results: Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
  • Maintenance: Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Supply Management: Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Specimen Processing: Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required OR an MLS degree.
  • Certification: ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently and within a team environment, proficient with computers, familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
