Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Creek's Edge Animal Hospital, a state-of-the-art veterinary practice located in Hainesport, NJ. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality medical services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatment, including monitoring hospitalized pets and preparing patients for surgery.
• Perform routine in-house laboratory work, including taking and developing radiographs, and preparing specimens for outside laboratories.
• Maintain inventory, prepare prescriptions, and administer medications and anesthesia under the guidance of a veterinarian.
• Provide excellent client service, educating clients on veterinary care and procedures, and communicating effectively with veterinarians and practice team members.
• Assist with surgical procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
• Familiarity with MS office applications and basic computer skills.
