Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Local CDL Class B Refuse Driver to join our team at Waste Connections. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and safety.
  • Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Load and unload trash at designated facilities, using hydraulic hand controls to lift and dispose of waste.
  • Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort

This role requires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds. You will work in a fast-paced environment with some exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, and be required to follow basic safety precautions.

Requirements
  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
  • 2 years of experience preferred, with basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
