POSITION PURPOSE
Delivers high-quality physical therapy services to patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment at HexaQuEST Health, Inc.
SUMMARY
As a key member of our healthcare team, the Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating patient needs, developing and implementing effective treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Evaluates patient needs and develops individualized treatment plans to achieve optimal physical function and mobility.
- Provides direct patient care, including manual therapy, exercise instruction, and education on proper body mechanics and injury prevention.
- Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and to address any concerns or questions.
- Documents patient progress and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and contributes to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Stays current with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and professional development.
ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Contributes to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Participates in departmental meetings and contributes to the development of policies and procedures.
- Assists with the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.
- Provides education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on physical therapy techniques and best practices.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of current physical therapy principles and practices.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a healthcare environment, with frequent contact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. May be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to the clinical environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Varied activities, including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer, telephone, copier, fax, and other office equipment.
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Ability to work in stressful situations.
EDUCATION CERTIFICATION
Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association.
EXPERIENCE
- One year of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist.
REQUIREMENTS
- Possession of a valid license to practice Physical Therapy issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Physical Therapy Board.
