As a Communication Specialist at PEOPLE INC., you will be responsible for delivering essential services to individuals with communication, language, and swallowing challenges. Your role will involve conducting assessments to identify specific needs and providing both direct and consultative services tailored to each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess communication and swallowing abilities, developing personalized treatment strategies.
2. Prepare detailed reports that include diagnoses, treatment plans, objectives, and recommendations.
3. Implement and monitor treatment plans in accordance with established guidelines and best practices.
4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive service delivery and support for clients.
5. Provide training and guidance to caregivers and staff on individualized treatment protocols, including dietary recommendations and communication aids.
6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and client progress.
7. Participate in professional development and contribute to team meetings, sharing insights and strategies for improvement.
Essential Functions:
- Address the communication and swallowing needs of clients through targeted interventions.
- Recommend and facilitate specialized assessments as necessary.
- Liaise with external agencies to coordinate care and resources for clients.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed and registered to practice Speech Pathology in New York State.
- Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
