Middle School English Language Arts Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to join our team. As an ELA teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote critical thinking, reading comprehension, and writing skills in our students.
Responsibilities- Instruction
- Develop and implement inclusive, culturally responsive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
- Guide students to analyze literary and non-narrative texts, assess an author's purpose, and write in a variety of genres.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to express themselves authentically.
- Encourage students to choose books of interest independently, fostering a love for reading and learning.
- Data Analysis
- Analyze and respond to trends in student work samples and assessments with your principal and/or instructional coach.
- Learn and implement strategies to differentiate instruction for all learners in your classroom.
- School Culture
- Build positive relationships with students, ensuring they feel seen, loved, and heard.
- Partner with students' families to provide support and resources for their child's learning needs.
- Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions.
- Participate in weekly school-wide meetings to cultivate community and model our core values.
- Collaborate with your grade level team to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies.

- Required Experience:
- A demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred).
- Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or other related fields of study.
- Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher by the time employment begins.
We offer a competitive salary range of $57,000 to $86,000, depending on experience, education, and certifications. Our benefits package includes generous paid time off, comprehensive health insurance, and a 403(b) retirement savings program.
