We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Altec Industries. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing vehicle and/or chipper components to required specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Read and interpret schematics and work orders to complete tasks efficiently.
- Operate various hand tools and equipment, including tape measures and specialty tools.
- Learn and operate all equipment within the work area to support production needs.
- Perform rework as required and support APS initiatives.
- Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories, and test installed components.
- Maintain a high level of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic expertise, with strong trouble-shooting skills.
- Train new and current associates on equipment and procedures.
- Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and shop tools/equipment.
- Record daily time and complete other job duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
