BASIS Ed is seeking dedicated professionals for the role of Specialized Educational Support Assistant.

The Specialized Educational Support Assistant (SESA) plays a crucial role in providing assistance for Special Education, 504, and English Learner (EL) Programs within the educational environment. This position involves fostering communication with families, colleagues, and supervisors regarding special education initiatives, while delivering paraprofessional support tailored to individual student needs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or a satisfactory state background check
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Successful completion of the applicable paraprofessional exam, CPI, or TACT-2
  • At least 1 year of experience in similar roles within a school setting

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of special education strategies across various school settings
  • Provide individualized support to students as necessary
  • Collaborate with the ESS Coordinator on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans
  • Work closely with instructional staff and assist with administrative duties
  • Maintain accurate student records while ensuring confidentiality
  • Supervise students and offer academic assistance as required
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
