We are seeking a highly skilled Allergy Specialist to join our team at Allergy and ENT Associates in Leander. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the success of our practice.
Job Summary:The Allergy Specialist will be responsible for providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services to patients with allergy and ENT conditions. This includes assessing patient health, developing and implementing patient-management plans, and providing education and counseling to patients and their families.
Responsibilities:- Provide medical services under the supervision of a physician, including diagnosing and treating patients with allergy and ENT conditions.
- Contribute to a physician's efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
- Recommend options and courses of action for patient care.
- Implement physician directives and maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examinations, including obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory studies, and interpreting test results.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, such as administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections.
- Instruct and counsel patients by providing normal growth and development information and providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living.
- Develop and implement patient-management plans and maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Develop healthcare team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experimental growth opportunities.
- Graduate of an accredited PA school and/or licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice RN.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current active licensure/certification to practice as a PA/NP in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS certification.
- Knowledge of professional theory, practice, and medical care to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques to provide ongoing patient care.
- Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients.
- Knowledge of patient education principles to develop self-care programs.
- Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency work situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
The Allergy Specialist will work in a well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor clinic office setting with adequate ventilation. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday with regular working hours, with occasional Saturdays and/or travel to other clinics required.
