Role Summary:
The Payments Industry is rapidly evolving, with a surge of innovative solutions emerging. As Visa transitions into a technology-centric organization, we are seeking a Chief Systems Architect to spearhead strategic initiatives within our Ecosystem & Operational Risk technology group.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Chief Systems Architect, you will:
- Lead architectural strategies across diverse, large-scale projects.
- Collaborate with various technology teams to establish architecture standards.
- Analyze business architecture and current technical frameworks for EOR applications.
- Develop a long-term architectural blueprint addressing security, scalability, and performance.
- Oversee an architecture review committee within the EOR technology team.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and partner requests.
- Produce comprehensive architecture and design documentation for significant projects.
- Facilitate proofs of concept and technical evaluations as necessary.
- Apply architectural best practices to enhance project outcomes and execution speed.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and serve as a mentor for development teams.
- Translate business challenges into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with product stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 9 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6 years with a PhD, or 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record as a Principal Architect or similar role in architecting complex software systems.
- Experience in designing large-scale distributed systems with high availability and low latency.
- Proficiency in real-time distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for system improvements.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java and Python.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and secure software development practices.
- Experience with API design and a strong understanding of API security.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role, requiring a balance between remote and office work, with expectations to be in the office a set number of days each week based on business needs.
