We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Summer School Nurse. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional healthcare services to students during the summer school program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emergency care for students with illnesses or injuries, using first aid procedures and obtaining necessary assistance when required.
- Assess students with known health problems and provide health appraisals, including heights, weights, vision, hearing, and other health problems as necessary.
- Dispense medication according to law and district policy, and promote health education to students and staff.
- Perform health screening and complete forms for students being referred or reevaluated for Special Education Services.
- Provide health counseling for students and staff with health problems, and support the philosophy of individual school campuses and the school district.
- A Registered Nurse with a current license from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners to practice professional nursing.
- Valid Texas driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the district's vehicle insurance program.
- Certified by the Texas Department of Health to perform vision, hearing, and scoliosis screening, and current CPR certification.
The Summer School Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to students with various health needs. The successful candidate must be able to concentrate, communicate effectively, and interpret policy and procedures. The physical demands of the job include light lifting, standing, and walking, as well as working in a variety of environmental conditions.
