Job Summary

Premise Health is seeking a part-time Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Frederick, MD. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations.
  • Provide or manage physical evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Use nursing skills to evaluate patient care needs, prioritize treatment, and maintain patient flow.
  • Evaluate and treat all injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to arrange for further medical treatment when needed.
  • Collaborate with outside resources for program development, such as healthcare providers, third-party administrators, and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform occupational and health screening tests, conduct laboratory tests, and administer medications as directed.
  • Assist with accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Assess healthcare needs and implement healthcare programs to improve health and facilitate return to work.
  • Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety, Operations, and Human Resources to develop operations, programs, and services.
  • Contribute to the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance.
  • Identify primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health.
  • Document all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions provided, and follow-up care arranged.
  • Identify emergency situations and provide care within the legal scope of practice.
  • Administer medications and medical treatments competently as directed.
  • Maintain medical records using electronic medical record software.
  • Identify equipment that needs repair and bring it to the attention of the lead clinician.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment and follow infection control procedures.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidential patient information.
  • Participate in follow-up phone calls and patient visits.
Requirements
  • Certificate from an accredited nursing school or associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Currently licensed registered nurse in the state of practice required.
  • Current hands-on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required; advanced cardiac life support may also be required.
  • Certification in occupational health nursing, emergency nursing, or case management preferred.
  • At least three years' experience as a registered nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
