Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System.

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing and assisting in ultrasound examinations, rendering technical assistance to radiologists, and maintaining and caring for all ultrasound equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and examines patients for ultrasound examinations, verifying their identity and obtaining health status and medical history.
  • Operates and adjusts ultrasound equipment, cleaning and making minor adjustments to ensure safety and optimal performance.
  • Reports any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel and communicates with patients, their representatives, and staff to explain exam procedures and instructions.
  • Develops and modifies procedure plans based on patient health status and medical history, using independent professional judgment to optimize exam results.
  • Performs exams under general or direct physician supervision, adjusting scanning technique to optimize image quality and spectral waveform characteristics.
  • Analyzes sonographic findings to obtain comprehensive exams sufficient for a physician to direct patient management and render a diagnosis.
  • Records diagnostic images and data for use by interpreting physicians and provides an oral summary of preliminary findings.
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available and maintains a clean and safe working environment.
