Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in surgical procedures, specifically in cardiovascular and thoracic cases.
  • Provide support to vascular surgeons and general cases as needed.
  • Participate in on-call duties for heart surgery, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical assistance.
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in vein harvesting.
  • Certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) is mandatory.
  • Experience with endo-vein harvesting and scrubbing is essential.
  • Prior experience in a teaching hospital or community hospital is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.

Additional Information:

  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required per facility guidelines.
  • Flu vaccination status is currently unknown.
